Whoa, look what I found!

The only forums I usually go on are Astronomican (because it's a very friendly site and I'm a mod there :p) and Warseer (more to look at rules questions and tactics, though there are definitely some awesome plogs on there!) Today I decided to head over to DakkaDakka which tends to be a once-a-week thing to look for cool logs or rules questions. Out of curiosity, I clicked on the "Featured Gallery Image" picture on the right hand side and began going through the pictures there when I came upon this beauty painted by astropos907:

Awesome Paintjob, Freehand, Great Paintjob, Monolith, Necrons

My god, that is one of the COOLEST paintjobs I've ever seen let alone on a MONOLITH! I was speechless. While it may not be a "fluffy" tank, boy is it nice to look at!

That's all for now!

Khan is finished (and some blog changes)

I finally finished up Khan for my Knights of Orion! What do you all think?

Also, I added a nice little thing to the blog. If you check out the right-hand column underneath the "Friday FAQ" image, you'll noticed three little banners for each of our armies. I have yet to add any of Pat's since he's only posted once :p Anyways, by clicking on these little images, it will send you to the posts that we make about our armies. All that Alex and I (and Pat, in the near future) will need to remember is to add the appropriate tags to posts!

Games Day Germany: The Report

From Warseer, Siam-Tiger confirms Space Hulk is the Mystery Box:
The big mystery box is going to be space hulk, they will show a trailer at 16.00 / 4 pm, but nothing else there. The real presentation will be via gw newsletter.
He goes on:

The real "announcement" of the space hulk game will be via newsletter, that should be available this night, complete with informations etc.

It is not limited, it has about 5.000 copies and will be avaible in german.

German GD T-Shirt had a tyranid skull as a motiv, the gw workers shirt had the terminator helmet at the front.

Now some pics of the Forge World ChaosReaver Titan thanks to philbrad2 and bmf from warseer:

Ironclad...finished

Finished up my Ironclad (I name him Thor. Long story but involves me listening to "Twilight of the Thunder God" by Amon Amarth*). I tried two new things to some success... first, I tried to bled the purple on the armor in the same vein as the Salamander Ironclad on the GW website. The other thing was that I only did NMM on the model's metallic part. I've done this before (a model having no metal paints used) but never to a scale this large. Usually it was confined to guardsmen (my Commissar that made it to the Chicago Golden Demon Finals being a good example). In the end, while the effects are certainly not perfect, I am incredibly happy with the way everything turned out. If I had to pick my favorite parts of the model, it would have to be the searchlight, the leg armor, the skull/cross thing on the left armor plate and the purity seal. Anyways, onto the pictures...

*One of the lines in that song is "Thor, Odin's son, protector of mankind" so I figured naming him Thor and referencing the song, people would make the connection with Space Marines = protectors of mankind. :p
