On an unrelated note, I really apologize for effectively ignoring this blog. Alex is in Germany for school until Christmas-time and I am so ridiculously swamped with school work and other more important things that I really don't have time for 40k at all in the forseeable future. However, if you happen to like this blog and you enjoy electronics and electronic related material, I do have another blog at Twelve Volt Rail. My current big project is designing a small ion generator for potential use as a secondary thrust mechanism on an RC plane. I will be ordering the parts for that shortly once I work out the kinks in the design. If that kind of crazy-ass stupid stuff interests you, bookmark the site, stop by and say hi, whatever!

Real-life, you cruel mistress!
Heh, well, didn't see this one coming.
Alex and I have made a promise to update Terran Forge more. I was working on painting some stuff up plus I've got the Project Kill Team to focus on and when he returned from California he was going to do the same. Well, this past week (those of you who follow me on twitter may already know this) I have been in Charlotte, NC to help the System Engineers from Harris figure some stuff out and collect data (I am currently on co-op which makes me, basically, a paid intern). I worked some 63 hours this past week so to say I have had little time for my beloved hobby (even going online and looking at blogs) is a vast understatement. I'm not used to this kind of work schedule! Now, to make it worse (for the blog at least), I have to go to Broken Arrow, OK tomorrow at 5am and am there till Thursday. THEN I go BACK to Charlotte, NC for the week after to help get the southern part of this massive communications system for Duke Energy live. It will be hectic, rest assured! However, after that it will be pretty much smooth sailing. I'm in Lynchburg, VA for two more weeks before going home for a relaxing two or three weeks (can't remember the exact amount of time) and then head back to RIT for school. 40k time will be back in full swing (hopefully) by then!
BUT! I have some good news (I think). I am rejoining The Astro Mag, but instead of an editor or something like that I am working on promotion and popping in on the creative side of things (article ideas, etc). I can promise you a BIG, BIG, BIG issue for our next release. It's all still in the works, but I can guarantee you that every bit of your 40k side will be satisfied! GET EXCITED!

Mobius Comics
Hey everyone, just a quick update from me. You may have noticed a bit of lack of activity from me and that is for a few reasons. First, my workload is massive now that I'm back at school again and I haven't even unpacked my 40k stuff yet (shock, gasp!). Second, my roommate Tim and I have been working hard in our free time to set up our webcomic Mobius Comics. It's a comic about nerdy stuff, random stuff, math and science and, of course, 40k (though I only have one 40k comic drawn yet- it's a future post - but there will be more of course ;)). We update every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and we also have a Youtube page here, if you're interested, where we will upload all sorts of videos. We also have a blog on there which we'll update whenever we have something to say.
Anyways, I just wanted to let everyone know why I have been so inactive and potentially expand our growing fan base. Subscribe, become a member, spread our link around, or hate us, whatever! Just plugging it here because I have put a lot of work towards it and it would be depressing to see it flop, as you could imagine!

Blog Suggestion: Hephesto's Forge
Hey guys, since I vegged out this weekend and forgot about the Friday FAQ (surprise, surprise...) I decided I might as well give you something worth while (in my opinion) to look at. An infrequently visited blog! It's called Hephesto's Forge and run by a modeling god/administrator at the Astronomican Forums (where I'm a mod under the alias "Arkaedin") and is overlooked for some reason. So I decided to give him a plug to try and boost his readers.
Now, Hephesto's Forge may be an infrequently updated blog (something to do with the fact that he is Mastering in Psychology :p) but when he updates...man do I get jealous of his skill. I absolutely love all the modeling work he does and I'm sure many of you will find it awesome too. Just head on over there, exchange links with him and say hi! Obviously take a look at all his stuff to as his work, as I may have mentioned, is flippin' awesome.
/plug
Figured I'd give you guys something different as I work on my "secret project" that you may have found out about if you read my twitter...

100 Posts: a look back
This does it. September 1st, 2009 marks 100 posts at Terran Forge. Wow. For a blog just started as a mere thought in boredom shortly before Spring Break, Alex and I have come a long way to get this blog out there so we can show off our stuff. Personally, I absolutely love the blogersphere and it is very hard to go back to posting WIP threads on forums (though I still do, I just prefer the blogging part :p). Now some stats about what has happened since our start on March 3rd:
- We have 61 followers. Absolutely awesome!
- We have had 26,558 page impressions (as of the writing of this post)
- Our average unique viewer rate after posting an update is 250 views while downtime is about 60.
- Top Five Traffic Sources:
1) Bell Of Lost Souls: 28.03%
2) Google Search: 17.86%
3) From the Warp: 14.12%
4) Direct traffic: 7.62%
5) Warseer: 4.86%
-Our peak amount of unique hits came on July 25th during Games Day Chicago when Alex, Pat and I collaborated with Bell of Lost Souls for their "LIVEFeed". We recieved 1,271 Pageviews from 683 visitors and 553 were absolutely unique (first time on site ever). Each visitor spent an average of three minutes and six seconds on site.
So those are just a few stats since we started Terran Forge (thanks to Google Analytics). We thank all of you for not only visiting our humble little site (which makes us very happy) but for being a wonderful blogging community that helped us grow and become a blog that people actually look at (something we honestly thought would be incredibly hard).
Now I'm off to paint some more purple guys so I can get my damn army finished! :D
